.....does it cost a shedload of ISK?
Na they are not as bad as type A (recently seen going for about 300million.) But I use to run 2 of them on my cerberus, perma tank. If the Cerberus had more DPS I'd probably trade my Nighthawk in for it. Much more fun!

Its not hard
Use two Field Purger Rigs Pith Type B / less then 35million You can go two ways, Use one Pith and shield ext T2 with resist.
Or You can use two Pith Type B with shield ext T2 --------------------------------------------------------- Use two or three Ballistic Control units in the low
Heavy Missile Launchers T2 --------------------------------------------------------- Hard Wires to use A.)ZMA B.)ZMM C.)ZMH D.)KYA
Good luck

Having both LSA and a booster means you're doing both passive and active tanking, but doing none of them well. Use the slot for either a cap recharger, shield boost amp, second booster (if using Gist) or more resists.
Secondly, as said, use a gist small shield booster. For a Cerb they're almost indistinguishable from magic
Im not a fan of AMP
BTW there is a lot of ways or your choice. Mix it up do what works for you.
Note: I use the Shield Ext T2 only for Tanking. If I know the mission is going need more Resis then I'll add Resist. Remember to keep moving with the cerb, that it is not a drake.
Add Sensor Booster and hit targets for Snipping Range =)

Originally by: Pia Uto i realize that playing with a cerb is probably more fun, but if you're just grinding missions for isk then would i be silly to suggest a drake? i can run any lvl 3 mission half asleep with a ship who's full fitting with rigs is cheaper then your ship alone.
One the Drake is slow and we all know that the Drake DPS is ****-poor. The HAC is much faster and can deal more DPS then the drake. Ingame look at the bonus that the Hac get over the BC. You will notice even with my 5 launchers im packing more of punch then the drake. Drake couldn't refresh it shield a 72 seconds per 2 seconds even if it tried. I believe the Refresh rate on drake 2.45 second? IM not sure! But the Tank On cerberus is completly nuts.. BTW Try it out you will see what im talking about.
-------------------- Grinding missions statement! Im tired of hearing people say your grinding missions. Its a income like any other PVE in game. Most PVP either Mine, Mission or Market to make isk. I have just chosen to do mission when I started the game from the beginning. I can't help it that people are jealous that I can solo everything under the sun and they are still stuck on lvl 2 missions. BTW I think the last skills books purchased for my 2 accounts - are incredibly overpriced *Better yet insane*
Capital Skill Books Carrier Dread
Not to mention 2Billion for Moros (complete) And 1.5 Billion for Thanatos.
Who going to pay for the ships when I loose them?
edit: Mother ship is now 15billion isk~

Before you get confused on which setup going to be the best for you (Buy the Gist small shield Booster A type) Will save you headache in the end - 76 hp/2sec
But to be HONEST scratch the Cerberus all together
Nighthawk FTW
Caldari Heavy Missile launchers 45 Units per launcher Caldari Navy Missiles Caldari Navy Ballistic unit
This will be cheaper then trying to do Faction fitted CNR or Golems.
DON'T FORGET HARDWIRES
A.)ZMA B.)ZMM C.)ZMH D.)KYA
Only one problem; Your going to sleep most the time and mission will become like a grind!

Originally by: Pteranodon With a faction amp & booster I can nearly treble the shield performance on a perma run which triggered this initial thread-so why would I choose your setup over a good solid tank?
If you can gank harder, you don't need to tank harder. That's why you'd go for a heavy assault setup on a heavy assault ship. Dead things can't web/scramble you, and allowing the enemy to get too close means they get to use things like autocannons and blasters.
To borrow a quote from a popular movie:
Neo: What are you trying to tell me? That I can dodge bullets?
Morpheus: No, Neo. I'm trying to tell you that when you're ready, you won't have to.
So, why would you tank three times as much damage when you can simply avoid taking damage in the first place? Yes, our styles differ. It's almost like you're the guy who wishes he had taken the blue pill.
Im just offering some advice
AGREE The faster you kill them the less damage overall your going to take on.
EW - I've learn to ignore the ew, because they are peanuts when you take out the damage dealers. (CRUISERS FIRST) - I learn that cruiser seem to be the problem in missions
Mission in General: Boring, after you repeat them so many time (It does become a grind) Do a few with someone you trust!
TBH It's like mining in ways
